Newstext operates very simply - you buy credits which you use to download
articles. Credits are $1.75 (Australian dollars) each. The minimum
purchase is 10 credits. You can buy as many credits as you like.
Credits are valid for one year from the date of purchase. Credits cannot
be refunded.
Searching the database is free for registered users, but each download is
chargeable. A download is defined as retrieving an article onto your
computer. As all material on Newstext is copyright, usage of articles is
governed by Newstext's terms and conditions, to which you must agree
before subscribing.
Most articles in the Newstext database cost 1 credit each to download. The
notable exceptions are articles from the London newspapers (The Times, The
Sunday Times, The Sun, News of the World) which cost 2 credits each to
download.
A button warning of the credits that will be deducted from your account
appears on your screen before the download process can begin. You have to
click acceptance for the download to proceed.
