Master Account with Sub-Accounts
In a nutshell:
Our Master Account with Sub-Accounts service is perfect for families,
businesses, schools, libraries - in fact, for anyone who wishes to provide
others with access to Newstext but wants to control that access.
Control:
It allows you to set up a Master Account with sub-accounts which you control.
All have their separate username and password to access Newstext. The
Master Account can distribute credits among sub-accounts, change passwords
and usernames, enable/disable any or all of the sub accounts, and buy
more credits at any time.
A sub-account only has the ability to use its log-on details to access
the Archive and download articles according to the credits available to
it. A sub-account cannot change username or password, top up credits,
etc. A sub-account is not limited to a particular PC - in other words,
the user of a sub-account can log-in from school or work or home.
Varying numbers of sub-accounts:
You can vary the number of sub-accounts that the Master Account controls.
The minimum is four sub-accounts; the maximum is 100. You can choose whatever
you require in between. If you need fewer than four sub-accounts, simply
disable the unwanted ones with your Manager tool. If you want more than
100 sub-accounts, contact us.
Cost:
The minimum purchase to set up a Master Account with sub-accounts up is
50 credits. 10 of these credits are placed in the Master Account and 10
in each of the 4 sub-accounts.
The minimum number of credits needed to create each sub-account is 10.
Example: You want to set up 20 sub-accounts, therefore you must purchase
210 credits (10 for the master account, 10 for each of the sub-accounts
If you purchase more than the minimum, then the extra credits are placed
in the master account. Example: You purchase 120 download credits and
select 5 sub-accounts - the Master Account will get 70 and the five sub-accounts
will each get 10. You can use the Manager tool to redistribute the credits.
If you create a Master Account with the maximum of 100 Sub-Accounts, the
sub-account usernames and passwords are generated at random, ready to
use. The minimum purchase to set up one of these accounts is 1010 credits.
Manager Tool:
The Master Account has access to a Manager Tool to manage the sub-accounts.
None of the sub-accounts has access to this tool.
The Manager Tool allows the main user to:
Disable and Enable sub-accounts
redistribute credits among sub-accounts
change sub-account usernames and passwords
set limits on how many download credits a sub-account can use in one day
Buying more credits
The Master Account can purchase more credits through Newstext's Top Up
function at any time. Sub-accounts cannot do this. When more credits are
purchased, they are added to the Master Account. The main user uses the
Manager Tool to distribute these credits to sub-accounts. Users of sub-accounts
can see their individual account details. Before their credits get too
low, they are advised to contact the administrator of the Main Account
to organise more credits, or subscribe to the service as a casual user.
